Since childhood, I’ve always been involved in some sort of athletic activity so going to the gym was something that I never really did until my later years in college. Translating 2+ hours of drills, scrimmages and sprints into reps and cardio at the gym was not the easiest thing for me to do. Being on an end line filled with other teammates made all the enduring drills, 20-40 sprints and conditioning easier because you knew you were not alone…in fact, you were held accountable for yourself and for each other. These days, working behind a desk all day seems to drain my energy, making my sofa look oh-so appealing after work…or a happy hour with friends seems to call my name…
I belong to the same gym as friend Laura and we motivate each other to get to classes together – such a great way to get a work out in! I also bought a ClassPass with my friend and teammate Kelsey, which has been great to plan pre or post work workouts! We love that we get to try a bunch of different classes. Yoga, cycling and barre are just a few of they types of classes I have tried thus far…sign up for ClassPass here*
Working different hours and having different schedules, I am finding that Strength is found in numbers!
