My previous job had me traveling down to High Point, North Carolina for the Bi-Annual Furniture Market and I loved every trip. In addition to enjoying the creative minds, beautiful decor and hi-energy ambiance the food was far from disappointing. In fact, everything from the fried green beans to chicken pot pie to the banana pudding proved to be off the charts! During the #winterstormJuno my roommate and I hankered down and were excitedly prepared to brave the storm (that wasn’t). Reminiscent of warmer weather and my time down south, I had a craving for the good, ol’ fashion banana pudding (that undoubtably skyrockets your sugar levels) I enjoyed down in North Carolina. I have to say that I have only heard reviews for Magnolia’s Banana Pudding so I decided it was finally time…and let me tell you, this recipe does not disappoint…
Recipe based off of Popsugar’s “Magnolia Bakery’s Banana Pudding”
1 1/2 cups water
2/3 cup instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (14 oz.) Sweetened condensed milk
3 cups heavy cream
1 (12 oz.) box vanilla wafers
Mix the vanilla pudding mix, condensed milk and water together in a large mixing bowl. Cover and let chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Voila! Next time I make this pudding I will have to bring home some of Magnolia’s beloved Banana Pudding and do a blind taste test for a few friends! What recipes are your favorite these days?
