Everyday Detox has been my go to cook book this winter. I love to cook especially with ingredients that are good for your body. I was hit with severe food allergies last November (whole other story!) and have since tried to replace all my favorite foods with their healthier counterpart. At first, I wrote off healthy food as tasting sub-par to its more calorie filled, nutrient lacking “regular” food counterpart. But thanks to gals like Megan Gilmore and Ali Maffucci, who have helped me immensely, I have come up with alternatives. Pizza for example is one of my favorite foods but just so happens to include 2 of my highest allergens: dairy and wheat. Eating pizza isn’t as easy as dialing up my favorite pizza joint but instead takes a bit more TLC since I make my own cauliflower crust and use all fresh ingredients. But the end result is worth it! I hope to share some of my experiences will disprove my original theory and hopefully help a few more people eat more veggies and clean foods! I love Megan Gilmore’s book so much I hit the internet to search for more likeminded gals like her and came across a few more that I hope to pick up soon! Here are some others that are on my radar!
